Christian Scott, the Levitt Pavilion, and Nextbop

Last Sunday I headed to the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena once again, this time to check out the Christian Scott quintet. My reflection on this show can be found on my post at Nextbop.com – a jazz website that showcases and promotes the jazz musicians of today (Scott being one of them). Go check it out!

I was able to talk with Scott after the show — I had a wonderful time backstage getting to know him and the band. (drums: Eric Doob, keyboards: Milton Fletcher, bass: Kristopher Funn, guitar: Matt Stevens)

And I also bumped into the fantastic Shirley Jahad of 89.3 KPCC, who also serves on the board of directors at the Pavilion.

Many thanks to Sebastien Helary of Nextbop for connecting me with Christian Scott.
